Don’t be fooled……. Into thinking that all PVC-u double glazing & roof-line products are all more or less the same as there are many things to consider before make your purchase! You may feel that the outward appearance of windows & doors etc. are almost identical, this in itself is not necessarily true. For example our range of windows, doors & conservatories come complete with ornate sculptured profile with matching sculptured internal beading (see picture) as standard! Which alone have the immediate effect of making our customers windows & doors stand out as the best!


Of course there are many other things which you should also consider such as weather-proofing & security systems, quality of materials, construction & as importantly standards of installation which can vary greatly from company to company. The specifications of our product which are set out in this brochure are standard to all of our products, as we believe that everybody should be able to have the best products available at prices that are affordable.

MANUFACTURE

• High impact PVC-u


The quality of plastic compounds used in the extrusion of profiles can vary from company to company. Using high impact PVC-u means that our frames are ultimately stronger, more durable & easily able to cope with the extreme variations in temperature which we are subjected to in this country. Also using high grade 100% virgin PVC-u means we can confidently guarantee that your windows, doors etc. will not discolour or fade even when exposed to constant direct sunlight.


• Full 70mm multi-chambered frame


Our frames are designed with not only strength, thermal efficiency & noise reduction in mind but also simply to fit better. As most windows we replace are 60mm in depth any unsightly putty lines are covered, whilst retaining slim looking sight lines.


•Internal galvanised steel re-inforcements


Steel reinforcements are inserted within the chambers of the frame-work where necessary; this adds dimensional stability & strength ensuring the windows/doors last for many years to come. (All wood-grains & coloured frames are fully reinforced as standard.)


• Fully welded joints


All transoms, mullions & corner joints are fully welded. This is the preferred method in the manufacture of frames, some inferior systems use mechanical joints which can expand leaving unsightly gaps & also expose the windows/doors to draughts. A fully welded system is guaranteed to be stronger, more durable & draught free!

GLAZING

• 28mm Double glazed sealed units


All our double glazed units are fully sealed, comprising of two panes of 4mm glass (Low-e as standard) allowing for a full 20mm air gap which provides the recommended optimum space for both thermal efficiency & noise reduction. (Fully meeting requirements set out in Document L) Also all units are guaranteed against break down where by condensation could occur between the two panes of glass. So when it’s cold on the outside you’ll feel warm on the inside!

INTERNAL GLAZING & BEADING


• All our double glazed units & thermally insulated panels are installed & held in place using beading on the inside of the property which prevents the possibility of intruders removing glass from the outside….. which is possible with externally glazed systems!


• There is a multitude of glazing design options from plain frosted glass (Pilkington range), simple leading options & Georgian bars or even intricate coloured leaded or bevelled crystal glass designs. (Please ask your sales representative for further design options available). The only limit is your imagination!

SURVEYING & INSTALLATION


• The surveying & installation of PVC-u windows, doors conservatories etc. are the most important elements of a contract. What is the point of having a fully accredited system that is manufactured to stringent British standards if the aperture is measured wrongly or the window/door etc. was incorrectly installed? With this in mind we feel it important to keep ourselves completely up to date with the latest techniques & training methods to ensure that your installation is carried out with the professional standards to compliment the high quality of the manufacture of our product. The quality of our installations will make an enormous difference to your home.

PRODUCT ACCREDITATIONS

WINDOWS


• Casement windows are by far the most popular British window style & are available in a multitude of options. (Other window styles are available such as tilt & turn, & sliding sash windows. Please ask your sales representative for further information.) Choose top or side openers or incorporate both. Whether you are aiming to replicate your existing window designs or create something new to satisfy your personal taste you can be sure that the Bestbuy range has something for you! Our fully sculptured profile & acute angled frame bevels gives our windows a slimmer appearance than most. Bestbuys integral weatherproofing features are cleverly concealed behind the high impact PVC-u exterior. Integral flush fitting gaskets are incorporated throughout for a cleaner, less obstructive glazing surround, taking away the need for thick unsightly rubber gaskets which are liable to shrink, used on some of our competitors systems!

• An array of design features built in to the window help to provide protection for you & your family against possible intruders & injury. With our tried & vigorously tested security system comprising of shoot-bolts at both ends of the window opening & roller-cam espagnolette locking points which also act as a compression device making your window draught free, hinges that lock in both corners & locking handles, you can be sure nothing has been left to chance. Giving you locking points all around the opening & the knowledge that your home is secure!

• Safety is also an important consideration especially for families with young children, so child proof restrictor hinges are available (as an option) the innovative hinge limits the opening of the window preventing anyone from falling. A concealed pressure pad within the actual hinge mechanism allows the window to be opened by an adult. Similarly all opening windows come with night vent facility as standard, the window can actually be locked in an open position of about an inch, allowing safe ventilation & giving you extra peace of mind.

 

• All window hinges open in a manner in which it is possible to clean the windows from inside so no more ladders! Also all bedroom windows are fitted with an egress hinge as standard which opens in two positions allowing both ladder free cleaning & an unobstructed means of escape in an emergency, such as a fire.

RESIDENTIAL DOORS

• Nothing creates an impression about your home so instantly & memorably as your entrance door. The Bestbuy range of residential doors is designed to offer you either traditional good looks or a slightly more contemporary feel with truly modern security & all the benefits of virtually maintenance free PVC-u. Designed meticulously to not only keep out the wind & rain, but also would be intruders, the Bestbuy range of doors are not only durable but also highly desirable.


• With front doors we realise everyone is different, & we all have our own tastes & ideas about design. With this in mind we have put together an extensive range of thermally insulated door panels for you to choose from. • Once again security is of utmost importance when choosing a door to protect your home & all our doors be they front, rear or even in your garage come with the same high quality locking system you would expect! Having researched the market extensively we have incorporated a Yale locking system comprising of two espagnolette roller cam locking points, three claw locks, a locking latch-plate & also unlike most of our competitors shoot-bolts at the top & bottom of the door! All this coupled with a minimum of three robust hinges ensure our doors are not only extremely secure but make for years of guaranteed consistently smooth operation.

FRENCH DOORS

• French doors help link your home with the outside, allowing you to enjoy your garden or view whilst retaining a traditional look to your property. Giving more access than normal doors our French doors present very attractive sight lines both inside & outside your home. Included as standard is toughened safety glass, & by incorporating identical Yale locking specifications to residential doors with the edition of extra shoot-bolts to the slave side, our French doors give you extra security. Like all Bestbuy products French doors are tailor-made to your exact specifications, & are available up to a width of 2m. (Side panels are available on French doors that exceed 2m in width.)


PATIO DOORS

• Much like French doors, patio doors are an ideal way to link your home with the garden or even a conservatory. Whatever your reasons you can be sure patio doors are the perfect way to give your house a feeling of space. Available in 2, 3 or 4 pane options they may be an ideal solution to openings that are wider than most. Once again security is a major consideration, so as well as hook-locks & locking dead-bolts, anti-lift devices are fitted to prevent panes being lifted by would be intruders, as is possible on older systems. (Some of which are still available from our competitors!)

The Edwardian


The Edwardian style has a square fronted projection which maximises the available space in the new conservatory you are creating. Capturing the elegant & dignified simplicity of the Edwardian architectural style, this type of conservatory is often the most appropriate way to extend your home.


The Lean-To


The lean to option is ideal for those with budget in mind, & is highly adaptable with lengths & widths to suit any property. Adaptability, however, does not bring any concessions on style with the sleek lines of the Lean-To conservatory roof being refreshingly, simply beautiful.


The Gable End


A gable ended conservatory has a flat faced frontage, which bring extra height & increased light into your new room. This is a wonderfully simple style with elegance & character all of its own.


The Victorian


The Victorian style has a faceted projection which gives a distinctive & soft feel to the shape of the conservatory. Available in 3 & 5 faceted versions, a Victorian conservatory extends gently into any garden space.


The P-Shape


P-shaped conservatories allow you to create multi-functional spaces that look as impressive from the outside as they do from within. It can incorporate any of the usual conservatory styles; Victorian, Edwardian or gable ended. The leg of the P-shape can either be finishes vertically or with a slope, called a hip, to the roof. This style of conservatory gives you the greatest freedom to create the space you dream of.

What’s included?…….. The answer to this is down to you! We can complete as much, or as little of the conservatory installation as you like. Being experts at installing conservatories we have many excellent qualified tradesmen at hand to make the process as smooth as possible for you.
