Content Management Systems

There are broadly two types of web site; Dynamic and Static. Dynamic sites are typically have the content that a visitor sees, generated by a database which is maintained with up to date data. A good example would be and Estate Agent's Site where housing stock is changing daily. On-line shops are another place where you will see dynamic data. Behind the scenes, the web site owner is managing the content; typically product images, descriptions, stock levels and prices. You the customer get to see up to date information courtesy of a dynamic site.

Of course, the vast majority of sites are not dynamic; they are static. that is, they do not change minute to minute. What you see on the site this week is what you saw on the site last week. There is a half way house however.
